Do I need a pop-up waste WITH or WITHOUT overflow?

Courtney Cole -

Confused about what waste you require for your project? Read our easy guide on pop-up wastes to make sure you're picking the right one for your project!

What are Pop-Up wastes?
Pop-up wastes are designed to seal the water in your sink or tub to allow to you unwind in a relaxing bath after a big day or soak those clothes with pesky stains. An easy push top allows for an easy open and shut function for these sleek and modern wastes.

What's the difference between the two wastes?
For the wastes with overflow there is a small opening drilled in the top of the threaded portion of the drain that allows overflow water from the basin to enter the sink pipe. If your sink features an overflow, it is very important to purchase a waste with the overflow opening so that your sink and drain function properly. If your sink does not feature an overflow hole it needs to be paired with a waste without overflow.
